AUSMAH Deploys Automated Corrosion Detection Robots at Oil Facility

15 May 2025
AUSMAH has begun deploying small automated robots designed to inspect oil and gas facility infrastructure for early signs of corrosion, reducing the need for manual inspection in hard-to-reach areas.
The robots are equipped with imaging and ultrasonic sensors capable of detecting subtle changes in metal thickness that often indicate developing corrosion. Company representatives said the robots have already been deployed across several pilot sites, with plans to expand the program based on results.
“Sending a robot into a tight, awkward space beats asking a person to do it every time,” said a representative from AUSMAH’s industrial safety team.
