An Atmosphere of Creativity
It’s impossible to create a masterpiece on demand, and it’s just as impossible to force someone to think creatively.
One of AUSMAH’s key HR innovations lies in introducing various techniques to build a creative atmosphere and a genuinely pleasant working environment. This includes things like bright, thoughtfully designed office spaces and dedicated relaxation areas, along with the freedom to unwind during breaks over a cup of coffee or a round of table tennis or foosball. Breaks themselves aren’t tied to a fixed schedule either.
A programmer, for instance, doesn’t necessarily need to “reset” their brain during a set lunch hour; sometimes that need arises at a completely different time. The same logic applies to flexible working hours more broadly. If a marketing manager is generating brilliant ideas, the exact time they walked through the door in the morning becomes far less important.
AUSMAH also occasionally runs experiments where employees are actually asked not to do any work at all for a few days. Instead, they draw, build things, play games, activities that often end up sparking genuinely new ideas.
That said, it would be a mistake to assume that HR management is all games, encouragement, praise and rewards. A significant portion of the work still involves handling documentation, managing records, overseeing workplace discipline and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
