AUSMAH Showcases Prototype Autonomous Parking System for Passenger Vehicles

AUSMAH presented a prototype autonomous parking system for its passenger vehicle lineup, allowing a car to locate and park itself in a designated spot without driver input.

The system relies on a combination of cameras, ultrasonic sensors and mapping software to navigate parking structures and identify available spaces. Company engineers said the technology is still in early testing and will require extensive real-world validation before wider rollout.

“Parking might seem like a small piece of the autonomy puzzle, but it’s one drivers deal with every single day,” said a lead engineer on the project.
